The success of the Cadiz kennel goes back over 30 years with the combined effort of Christine and Allan Faint having always preferred to choose and exhibit THE best show dogs over having litters. We leased our bitches back to Birgit Ferguson from the well-known Tahkira Kennels. Consequently the Cadiz prefix has never appeared on our Afghans pedigrees until the year 2003. We have a lot to be proud of on the way, having started out with excellent quality dogs including: Ch. Tahkira Lotus, Ch. Tahkira Queen O'Hearts, Ch Tahkira Chimney Sweep (in the 70s & 80's) multi SBIS Ch Tahkira Hot Gossip & his litter sister BIS Ch Tahkira Hells Angel, Ch Tahkira Tiger Talk and the stunning litter brother to Am Gd Ch Aus Ch. Tahkira Hell Raiser Ch. Tahkira Sheer Hell.

The Cadiz pedigree contain many of the history's great winners and most important blood lines which produce consistent quality generation after generation.

Cadiz lines produce superior Afghans possessing substance and style, along with effortless gait missing so often in our great breed.

In addition to owning magnificent dogs, we have handled numerous winners in Afghans and other breeds for other people as well as our own.

Due to a marriage break up, our dogs were not shown, we retired some of them very early, cutting short potentially great show careers. Fortunately, our addiction to the breed kept us in frequent contact, bringing Christine back to the showring in 2002 and to breed the 1st Cadiz litter born in February 2003.

Even though we do not always agree on every aspect, this has not penalised the exceptional quality maintained in the Cadiz lines.

Our aim is to continue presenting consistant winners displaying superior virtues such as exceptional movement, elegant heads, with strong correct underjaw, hocks strong and straight and not too long, level hard toplines, correct hip bones, croup set, high head carriage, true oriental expression with superb pigment. In short, we breed to fulfil the requirements of the Afghan Hound Standard. Christine is a qualified judge for Group 6 The Utility Group, and currently a Trainee for Group 4 Hounds.

Other interests include showing and breeding Siamese and Oriental Cats under the 'Brightiger' prefix.

As well as having interest in the cats & dogs, we also have 2 mares which were bred for the interest in the equestrian arena particularly in the sport of eventing and showjumping. These days though, time restricts to do any of these activities seriously, so the girls enjoy their semi-retirement grazing most of the time.

Please stay awhile, we hope you enjoy your visit. Don't forget to sign the guestbook, we would love to hear from you.
